Frequently asked questions
When can a company be an innovative startup?
When the requirements of Article 25 of Decree-Law 179/2012 are met, including: an unlisted limited company with registered office in Italy, incorporated no more than five years ago, with a corporate purpose related to technological innovation and at least one of the following: research and development expenditure, a qualified team, or ownership of patents and software. The firm checks the requirements on the specific case.
Can an already incorporated company register?
If the requirements are met, yes: registration in the special section of the Business Register can also be requested after incorporation. The firm first checks the requirements and the conditions for maintaining them.
Which incentives are available?

What is the difference from an innovative SME?
